Duties

Evaluates and analyzes the customer's business system requirements for feasibility, cost-effectiveness, integrity, completeness, compliance, compatibility, and testability. Works with key project stakeholders and businesspeople to formulate and communicate the business requirements for the project. Plans and establishes the work schedules, deadlines and standards for acceptable work. Participates in development of project proposals and work breakdown structures (WBSs). Designs and develops an appropriate IT solution that fully satisfies the customer's business systems requirements. Tests and validates that all software modifications meet system specifications and that they fulfill the approved business system requirements. Oversees implementation and maintenance of system software modifications/ Participates in release management, software transition, and deployment activities.

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS), your qualifications must include: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzes processes to the planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a variety of complex, critical software development and integration services. Assesses, evaluates, analyzes, elicits, interprets, plans, designs, develops, refines, documents, tests, validates, implements, and maintains all business system requirements to provide IT solutions by modifying existing and/or building new software systems and works with customer functional proponents in their formulation of requirements that results in a new system design or major modifications to Automated Information Systems (AIS). Evaluates and analyzes the customer's business system requirements for feasibility, cost-effectiveness, integrity, completeness, compliance, compatibility, and testability. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
