As a Management Analyst you will work in the Veterans Benefits Administration, Regional Office (VARO), in the Milwaukee Office of the Director. Develops recommendations for program officials and supervisors and strives to have viable recommendations accepted by operating components. Recommendations include development of new or modified work methods, procedural changes, systems variations, and acceptance of new technology developments.
Duties
Provides higher management with reports, evaluated information, budgetary proposals, and similar products necessary for effective direction of administrative operations.
Regularly apprises the Director of initiative status and recommends when intervention is necessary, providing sound advice and guidance to station management in achieving the RO's objectives.
Provides support for innovative programs aimed at highlighting and improving mission effectiveness; maintaining, adjusting, and recommending short and long term plans as required by changes or evolution in mission and objectives.
Utilizes statistical analysis, and/or other techniques designed to effect process improvement and more efficient business practices. Investigate and recommend solutions to operational and/or managerial problems as identified by the Director and/or Assistant Director(s).
Reviews initiatives, measures the RO's performance toward initiatives and advises the Director of corrective action to be taken to meet initiatives. Assists in the formulation of action plans to track RO progress with respect to implementation goals and facilitates work or program reviews to improve results. Responsible for continuous communication of results to Director and other Management.
Gathers and organizes narrative and statistical information using generally advanced methods, techniques, and precedents requiring considerable adaptation and/or interpretation for application to administrative functions.
Interprets findings resulting from studies that are independently developed. Completes analyses of data and identifies administratively significant findings.
Analyzes and evaluates, on a quantitative and or qualitative basis, operations in meeting established goals, measures, and objectives; analyzes and preparing status reports for review at all levels.
Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-11) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as work that involves (1) Utilizing software applications to prepare documents, spreadsheets, databases and presentations as well as to provide technological solutions to operational challenges (2) Participating in and contributing to effective work teams (3) Cooperating to complete group projects while independently managing individual projects.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-12 level.
