You will serve as a Supervisory Administrative Support Specialist (AWARDS) in the Personnel Support Systems Branch (1102.7), Administrative Services Division (1102), Executive Support Office (1100) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will supervise and direct operations engaged in the command-level administrative programs across NNSY.
You will assign work and manage program plans, policies, objectives, and priorities.
You will review and approve disciplinary actions involving subordinates.
You will monitor and review processing of awards for NNSY.
You will manage the annual performance appraisal budget.
You will utilize oral and written communication to disseminate information to all levels of team members.
Requirements

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to do some amount of walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, walking on stairs and uneven surfaces.
- You will be required to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds in weight.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience managing multiple functional areas (e.g., Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action plan, Performance Appraisal budget and Awards Programs);
Experience maintaining secure inventory of sensitive documents and materials;
Experience supervising, training development, and assigning work to staff based on skills, priorities, and deadlines;
Experience disseminating in both oral and written communication to coordinate and collaborate with all levels of managers and employees.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-11:
Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
Possession of a LL.M, that is related to this position being filled.
