You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the ENGINEERING & PLANNING DEPARTMENT (Code 200Q) of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will conduct research of higher and local level process and procedures to assess compliance of shipboard repair maintenance projects.
You will conduct cause analysis to include assimilating event-related materials, developing timelines, cause maps and process maps.
You will facilitate critiques or fact-finding meetings in support of maintenance and repair processes and procedures.
You will product internal and external reports required by both local and higher echelon instructions.
You will present audit and surveillance findings to the Engineering and Planning Department and PSNS and IMF management.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting and evaluating assurance program processes or procedures to include administering critiques, identifying operational or procedural deficiencies and recommending corrective actions to ensure ship or submarine maintenance or repair projects meet the quality requirements. My experience demonstrates a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Substitution of Education for GS-11:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR
Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position
OR
An LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
