Both the Orion Program and the Exploration Architecture, Integration, and Science Directorate supporting Moon to Mars at the Johnson Space Center are seeking highly qualified individuals that serve as export control leads. You will be responsible for export control activities related to large, highly complex systems that involve international partners, for leading a team, and for working with multiple stakeholders within the corresponding Program Planning and Control Offices.
Duties
Lead a team of Export Control analysts, coordinate overarching export control activities, provide statuses to management and senior leaders, and host or participate in various Export Control Community of Practices.
Ensure compliance with all Export Control laws and policies including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
Serve as the Export Control Representative by providing hardware, software, technology, and data classification for export and/or public release, utilizing a wide range of subject matter practices, laws, regulations, policies, and precedents.
Interpret export policies and processes for NASA Programs. Utilize subject matter expertise, best practices, and analysis to advise and recommend approaches on operational and strategic issues varying in complexity to management.
Facilitate Foreign National Access Management (FNAM) including badge requests for Foreign Nationals and other related activities.
Participate in and contribute to Program Office meetings and boards, cross-program ECR meetings, NASA Export Compliance Program Review, and other activities that involve the intersection of programmatic work and Export Control.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level:
Interpreting and applying export control laws and regulations to ensure compliance for agency programs;
Analyzing or drafting strategic plans or policies for programs related to international partnerships and presenting findings to senior level leaders;
Serving on program or office review teams or other activities, providing subject matter expertise related to export control issues and best practices.
