As the Aircraft Operations Program and Infrastructure Branch Chief you will be responsible for leading a team of functional area manager civil servants. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the aircraft operations division's functional areas. Additionally, you will also be responsible for interfacing with the Flight Operations Business Office and the JSC CFO office. This position requires experience in project and budget.

Duties

Manage the Aircraft Operations Division (AOD) Program and Infrastructure Branch. Evaluate employee and branch accomplishments; present branch activities to AOD management. Recommend employee promotions and recognition; approve leave; implement performance modifications and take corrective actions as appropriate. Develop, organize, administer, evaluate, coordinate and oversee a comprehensive functional area management structure for all functional areas. Define and conduct monthly functional area review cycles to include a review or technical, cost, schedule, and risk items for each functional area. Coordinate with the FOD Business office and the JSC CFO office to prepare consolidated reporting which encompasses all functional area budgets to be presented to the Aircraft Operations Division (AOD) office monthly. Review all new agreements and reimbursable customer estimates before forwarding the agreements and estimates to Division for approval and actively manage all existing agreements to include MOUs, MOAs, ITAs and 7600A agreements. Consolidate and coordinate aircraft projected schedule updates between all aircraft platforms and provide a list of requested AOD long range schedule changes to be discussed at the weekly control board. Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees. Requirements

  • Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Managing aircraft budgets and schedules of a large project or functional area and interfacing with subject matter experts; Evaluating employee, branch and/or contractor performance and providing monthly feedback; Coordinates and oversees functional areas to include: project, aircraft platforms, facilities, or information technology.
