About the Position: This position is located at the Naval Health clinic located on Port Hueneme. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Oversee or maintains documentation for system hardware and software. Install, test, and operates Department of Defense (DoD) and Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) standard software systems. Serve as the data communications manager for the NMC Port Hueneme. Provides telecommunications technical support. Provide coordination and assistance for Automated Information Systems security matters involving NMC Port Hueneme.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position is at the IAT-II Level. Personnel assigned to this position must obtain the appropriate certification within six months of being assigned.

Basic Requirement for Supervisory IT Specialist (Systems Administration): Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes optimizing the functionality of networks and systems; planning installation of new products or equipment; developing test data to validate program modifications; and monitoring system performance data and make appropriate system tuning adjustments.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
