Duties
You will receive training in the application of concepts, principles, practices, and procedures in a variety of financial administration and management duties.
You will assist in the formulation of budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, review and evaluate budget requests, control and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
You will assist with assignments that are designed to develop knowledge of financial management programs, policies and methods.
You will research guides to locate accounting, budgetary and financial information and prepare summaries.
You will perform specialized work involving managerial or administrative work in connection with accounting systems.
Requirements

- This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, coordinating, developing, and issuing operational and technical guidance for financial feeder systems, processes, and procedures; fiscal appropriations; and fiscal law for transactions within financial management systems (e.g. Standard Accounting Budgeting Reporting System (SABRS))
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in the formulation of budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs and activities.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
GS-09:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
GS-07:
Completed 1 full year of graduate level education
or
Completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
or
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
