This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for leading or participating in comprehensive program and budget management tasks related to security cooperation programs; managing and executing budgets that require use of advanced analytical tools/techniques; problem solving to include unique and complex issues; advising senior management on improvements for internal programs.

Duties

As a Management and Program Analyst at the GS-0343-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as a management and program analyst with responsibility for managing the International Security Cooperation Programs (ISCP) Account. Lead, or participate in, comprehensive program and budget management tasks as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned programs. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of program and budget operations in meeting established goals and objectives. Conduct research and perform major program evaluations affecting the development of long-range program plans or resolve issues affecting principal program objectives. Develop plans that are designed to address negative trends affecting specific programs.

  • Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Leading or participating in comprehensive program and budget management tasks related to security cooperation programs; Managing and executing budgets that require use of advanced analytical tools/techniques; Solving problems to include unique and complex issues; Advising senior management on improvements for internal programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
