You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (APPSW) of NAVSUP BUSINESS SYSTEMS CENTER.
Duties
You will develop, coordinate, test, and implement major software upgrades, security patches, and mandatory changes that are required on all supported applications.
You will participate on boards to review development proposals, including systems capabilities, future initiatives, problems, or other critical issues requiring higher level decision authority.
You will evaluate system acquisition/implementation designs and plan ensuring that information assistance measures and requirements have been integrated and met.
You will review existing software codes, and new code to provide daily support or enhancements to critical manpower applications.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying advanced IT principles, concepts, standards and practices sufficient to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the agency; 2) Providing expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialist on critical IT issues; 3) Establishing knowledge of application engineering concepts, structured design, supportability, survivability, reliability, scalability, and maintainability to ensure that architectures are optimized for technical soundness, modern software implementation standards, functional accuracy, state of the art technical requirements, industry best practices and consistency.
