About the Position: Serves as the Supply Management Specialist for the Furniture Management Office of DPW with delegated authority and responsibility for programming, managing, directing and coordinating of all Furniture Management activities.

Duties

This is a developmental position; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-09 grade level. At the full performance, GS-11, the incumbent will: Processing of procurement actions to maintain a shop stock and furnishings of repair parts for accomplishing of organizational furnishings (approximately 2,500 items). Plans and organizes the work of the Furniture Management Office consisting of multiple separate functions: material acquisition, property control, furnishings management, storage and warehousing. Serves as an advisor to Division Chief and Director of DPW and to other authorized personnel on activities of the Furniture Management Office, providing specific information on the matter at hand, citing regulations, policies, and procedures. Analyzes and organizes the preparation of the DPW stock fund and applicable portion of consumer fund budgets, with responsibility for all budgeting processes governing requirements to effectively operate the Housing supply operations.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes identifying and resolving supply management issues; utilizing automated supply systems and property book operations to prepare property accountability documents and track equipment, property and supplies.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
