This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Business Operations Section (FSB), Financial and Administrative Unit (FSBF).
This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as the Senior Financial Management Analyst for the Division. Advisor to the Unit Chief supporting and managing DEA's financial management processes, including Unified Financial Management System (UFMS) technical workflow, undelivered orders, payments, and financial policy and procedures.
Duties
As a Senior Financial Management Analyst, your typical work assignments may include:
Analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of administrative operations in meeting the established goals and objectives of designated office component.
Serving as the Travel System Liaison and local system administrator as the Allowance Approver, for the assigned Division.
Overseeing and managing DEA's certification of obligations process.
Analyzing and conducting research on the status of funds for all funding allocations located within DEA's internal financial management system in which funds are allocated, obligated and expended.

Qualifications

Applicants applying for the GS-13 must meet one of the following requirements:
Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: .1) Reviewing and approving a variety of accounting transactions to include invoices, billing statements, allowance payments, and indirect payments made on the behalf of an organization; 2) Providing advice and oversight over budget and procurement actions of the organization's various funding initiatives; 3) Applying financial management concepts, principles and techniques, including new developments in financial management concepts and techniques to changing programs.
