This position is located in the U.S. Department of Transportation, Office of the Secretary (OST), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and supports the OST Office of Budget (B-20). The Office of the CFO ensures effective preparation and presentation of sound budget estimates, fosters effective utilization of resources, establishes and maintains proper financial controls, and performs the full range of budget financial management functions within the OST.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:
Experience in budget formulation, execution, and financial analysis in a federal setting, include supervising budget staff, developing budget policies, and providing expert advice on budgetary matters to senior management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Budget Administration - Knowledge of the principles and practices of budget administration and analysis; including preparing, justifying, reporting on, and executing the budget; and the relationships among program, budget, accounting, and reporting systems.
Decision Making-- Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions; perceives the impact and implications of decisions; commits to action, even in uncertain situations, to accomplish organizational goals; causes change.
