National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
Duties
Reviews and evaluates programs to implement automated data processing applications to ensure financial regulatory compliance.
Serves as a Financial Analyst and technical expert providing advice and guidance covering a wide variety of financial policies and requirements.
Provides training to analysts to assist system users in a range of objectives from initial deployment, refresher training, system updates, and troubleshooting.
Coordinates with counterparts for resolving financial and operational problems or to enhance the accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of financial information.
Utilizes data from financial systems to create executive level financial and other related reports and integrates data into dashboard development.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Required to obtain/maintain a Financial Management Level 3 Certificate in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012.
- Obtain/maintain Secret security clearance.
Qualifications
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience is defined as: experience (1) Applying new or revised accounting policies and procedures to financial systems development; and (2) developing specifications for new or revised financial applications.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education is not substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level.
