About the Position: Incumbent will serve as the Deputy Resource Management Officer to the Director, G-8 for the U.S. Army Military District of Washington and J8 for the U.S. Northern Command, Joint Force Headquarters, National Capital Region.
Duties
Represent command and serves as the voice of the command at conferences and meetings with higher headquarters.
Participate in making management decisions by analyzing and interpreting the resource status of various programs.
Develop an annual spending plan and monitors budget execution in accordance with approved monthly spending plan.
Advocate for resource requirements to ensure that the command receives adequate funding with an acceptable risk level.
Develop and provide guidance, planning factors, and instructions to subordinate commands.
Share in the fiduciary responsibility with the Director in the development, coordination, and integration of key resources.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Subject to a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period.
- Employee is required to meet the financial requirements of the DoD Financial Management (FM) Level 3 Certification Program.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
