You will serve as a Quality Insurance Specialist in the Quality Assurance Directorate of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.

Duties

You will maintain familiarity with a variety of requirements and specifications such as contacts, build and performance specifications. You will handle and process contractor documentation for review n approval of the Supervisors Quality Assurance Department. You will monitor the capability of the builders processes, and regularly audit their in process execution, and final products. You will prepare and monitor surveillance plans and sampling criteria for the fabrication, installation, activation, testing and trials of numerous shipboard systems. You will monitor corrective actions taken to ensure the product delivered adheres to the referenced standards and that actions prove successful and are adequate to prevent recurrence. You will prepare quality evaluation metrices to assure contractor performance is measurable and quantifiable. You will participate in audits on contractor products and processes.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level/pay band GS-09 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting analysis of quality control measures, processes, methods, or requirements to identify quality trends or conditions in the manufacturing of materials or products for shipbuilding projects or construction. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
