You will serve as a SUPERVISORY QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST at the SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.
Duties
You will be responsible for long range planning, developing and implementing the Quality Assurance program and goals to ensure that contractual obligations have been met.
You will be responsible to Director of Quality for interpreting broad policy guidance of higher authority into implemented policies, procedures, systems which will ensure that naval ships built and overhauled by contractor meet contract requirements.
You will review production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements.
You will review written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans.
You will analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system.
You will verify by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance.
You will identify inadequacies and request corrective action.
You will compute data, summarizing results, and prepare reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.
You will investigate customer complaints and deficiency reports and provide identification of causes to appropriate authorities.
You will read, interpret and apply technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.
You will review and evaluate supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning or conducting quality assurance inspections, assessments, surveillances, or audits for shipbuilding construction, maintenance, or repair operations.
