Duties

Performs analysis of and studies regarding impacts to financial status reports. Develops statistical data which defines the problem and identifies the proper reporting requirement to include necessary system changes, policy, and procedure interpretations. Analyzes usage data, system logs, and identifies targets of opportunity. Conducts analyses and studies quality/audit reviews to ensure compliance with program requirements and validity of controls and improve data management capability and data integrity. Participates in the development, design, and testing of system control and test requirements. Assists in identifying and resolving issues with existing validations and derivations and participates in defining rules in support of new requirements.

Qualifications

This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements. Substitution of combination of education and experience must still, in conjunction, minimally satisfy the DHA qualification requirement. Human Resources will determine your qualifications for each entry grade level based on your interest and the additional following criteria. Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting analysis, testing, developing and designing system controls and test requirements in accordance with financial management requirements, processes, principles, and practices; evaluating usage data, system logs, and financial status reports to ensure compliance with program requirements; and assisting users in identifying errors in financial systems and providing corrective actions and changes to controls. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.
