About the Position: This position is located with the I Corps Senior CDR AUG, G-8 Resource Management Program & Budget Division, on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Position may be filled as a Term appointment Not-To-Exceed 13 Months. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Please see "Additional Information" section below for further details.

Duties

Computes the rates of receipt, obligation, and expenditures of funds. Prepares a variety of reports covering the status of funds and advises program managers and other management officials on the availability of funds. Provides updates to Supervisory Budget Analyst and updates Command and staff at supported unit Reviews estimates submitted by program managers for compliance with rules, regulations and procedures. Manages components of the supported unit fiscal management function.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Must obtain and maintain Financial Management Certification Level 2 within two years of appointment.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned ,unscheduled overtime and some weekends.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 Months. A Term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Finance, Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Analysis. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationBudget ExecutionFinancial ManagementFundamentals & Operations of Budget Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
