You will serve as a Operations and Doctrine Analyst in the IAMD Capability Development Branch of NSMWDC DET DAHLGREN.

Duties

You will act as a weapon, sensors, combat systems technical expert to ensure IAMD (Integrated Air and Missile Defense) technology is currently operational. You will lead the effort to integrate technical capability and development of surface combat systems capabilities You will be the point of contact for tracking IAMD (Integrated Air and Missile Defense) capability recommendations. You will be responsible for tracking planned capability improvements. You will inform and maintain capability concepts and will be responsible for assessing wholeness and risk within the concepts as capability evolves. You will conduct research and evaluation to support requirements for developmental air and missile defense capabilities and deployment of new or improved systems. You will lead the Fleet Integration Team in the development of end user feedback into surface combat system development, inclusive of AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), and the Future Integrated Combat System (FICS).

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing missile defense operations by developing advanced technologies, improving combat systems capabilities and training to effectively support operational requirements of the warfighter.
