You will serve as a DEPUTY BRANCH HEAD N8/9 in the Assessment, Requirements and Experimentation Branch on the staff of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Division of NSMWDC DET DAHLGREN.
Duties
You will serve as the principal advisor to the Branch Head for Surface Navy capability requirements, programmatic and acquisition policy, strategic planning initiatives, and matters of DoD and DON policy or guidance.
You will oversee capability development activities as they relate to the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process of Surface Navy equities.
You will assist the Branch Head in the documentation, alignment and advocacy of Fleet Warfighting, readiness, and personnel capability requirements to the Navy Staff through the chain of command.
You will assist with the integration of warfighting requirements for Surface Navy capabilities based on current needs, fiscal realities and strategic guidance.
You will develop strategies for use in analyzing warfighting requirements and identify problems and implement solutions for situations not covered by existing guidelines.
You will analyze facts, identify problems, report findings, make conclusions and recommend corrective or other appropriate actions.
You will plan, execute, analyze and prioritize Integrated Air and Missile Defense warfighting requirements.
You will deliver briefings, represent the Fleet in a variety of Resource and Acquisition forums and consult with other organizations to coordinate mutual efforts.
You will participate in requirements evaluation teams and alternative assessment activities and participate in capability design process to ensure the adequacy, relevancy, and affordability of systems.
You will support the Branch Head in routine interface with staffs across OPNAV, DASN, Fleet Commanders and activities, Operational Commanders, Type Commanders, Joint and Coalition Partners, and Warfighting Development Centers.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Directing the planning, development and implementation of programs or policies pertaining to warfighting operations.
