You will serve as an OPERATIONS MANAGER in the COMMAND NAVAL SURFACE FORCES DIVISION of COMNAVSURFLANT.
Duties
You will serve as the AEGIS Ashore Operations Manager within the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) Detachment.
You will provide planning, coordination, and supervision of technical training, maintenance, force communications, Tactical Data Systems, Command and Control.
You will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, monitoring, and executing departmental operations and administrative functions.
You will be the authorized senior subject matter and technical expert on the oversight and organization of manpower, personnel, training, and equipping, and operations to facilitate deployments.
You will develop and implement departmental plans and schedules to establish mid and long-range milestones and objectives.
You will determine policy deficiencies in overall operations and initiate changes in policies, procedures, and assignments.
You will analyze resource (e.g., manpower, financial, etc.) requirements and make recommendations to the Commander on projects supporting Aegis Ashore Detachment programs.
You will oversee and manage the modernization program and future technical enhancement requirements of deployed sites and systems to keep pace with evolving technology, threats, and Presidential directives.
You will exercise direct face to face liaison with the Aegis Ashore fleet to support organizational objectives, milestones, long-term planning, and system modernization.
You will obtain continuous feedback on the overall Aegis training program and provide emergent support of technical and logistics issues to maintain or improve fleet readiness.

- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in and having the understanding of Navy POM process including analyzing, developing, and executing resource requirements (e.g., manpower, financial, etc.)
Experience in and having the understanding of Baseline 9 AEGIS Combat System, Afloat C4I equipment as it associates to Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD)
Experience planning, directing, coordinating and executing maintenance and modernization schedules including a broad knowledge of ship depot maintenance programs, funding cycles, management information systems and industrial resource capabilities
Experience providing program technical/financial/functional oversight and organization of shipboard manpower, personnel, training, equipping
Experience with oral and written communications supporting the development and briefing at a Flag/SES level (policies, briefs, decision papers)
Experience with TYCOM preferred.
