You will serve as a Legal Assistant (Office Automation) in the Distribution Management Office of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties
You will properly endorse, prepare and assemble passport application packages for submission as mandated by the State Department.
You will review completed passports for accuracy and ensure that the citizenship evidence and supporting documents have been returned.
You will process large volume of passports for groups to include the Marine Expeditionary Units (MEUs), UNITAS, IG teams, and other exercise group personnel.
You will answer all inquiries pertaining to passport matters or refers customer to the appropriate source for information.
You will review travel orders to verify entitlements and official authorization for travel.
You will ensure all transit visas are obtained, to include foreign dependents.
You will compute excess cost involved between member's entitlement and actual cost of circuitous travel.
This position requires evening and weekend work.
The position often requires irregular hours.
Requirements

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Reviewing completed passports for accuracy and ensuring that the citizenship evidence and supporting documents have been returned; 2) Arranging travel requests for overseas transportation; 3) Ensuring that all prerequisites have been met and requests are in proper format; and 4) Interpreting and explaining the requirements for obtaining a passport.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
