Duties

Develops relationships between Section 508 requirements, application development, website capability, IT programs and key support functions across the agency, our business partners in other agencies and both internal and external customers. Develops overall direction and goals for support of agency IT Accessibility policy, technical standards and compliance across the enterprise and each agency IT site. Leads development and monitoring corporate and enterprise level application development, test, and Section 508 support, web site review and IT measures and approaches, integrating agency IT performance goals into ... (cont.) enterprise-wide support plans, and aligning initiatives with services delivered under performance-based agreements. Responsible for the assessment of efforts in support of new and emerging agency websites entering the final production phase and ensures that... (cont.) current websites, applications (GOTS and COTS), and applicable system interfaces support all enterprise-wide applications. Works closely with various members of leadership and in coordination with program management officials across the enterprise to ensure compliance with all applicable DoD and DLA requirements. Ensures DLA compliance with the provisions of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, as amended by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (P.L. 105-220), contd when developing, procuring, maintaining, or using electronic and information technology Develops program initiatives and oversees the implementation within the serviced program area to include the issuance of DLA application and web policies contd ensuring programmatic initiatives align with corporate level strategies, plans and objectives Evaluates DLA IT effectiveness and performance against department-level goals, objectives, and targets. Ensures DLA web sites and applications (COTS and GOTS) are developed and acquired in accordance with the policies and processes contd prescribed throughout the Federal government to include non-.mil hosting, naming, and addressing conventions, operational security, FOIA, privacy, web site usability requirements, and Section 508. Manages team of IT engineers providing Tier II Help Desk support for users of Assistive Technology software tools. Manages DLA enterprise licensing and upgrades of Assistive Technology software tools.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory IT Specialist (PLCYPLN) your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
