You will serve as a MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the PRODUCTION TRADES DIVISION AND F/18 PROGRAM of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
The incumbent is responsible for applying practical knowledge of ground support equipment functions and management of assigned Integrated Product Team hazardous waste containment and disposal program.
Salary range for GS-07: $55,836 - $72,588
Salary range for GS-09: $68,297 - $88,786
Duties
You will maintain daily records on ground support equipment and hazardous material in accordance with ISO 14001 guidelines.
You will maintain liaison with other FRC-SW activities and contractors concerning capabilities, policies, plans and other matters affecting the GSE in the assigned IPT.
You will provide assistance in solving problems related to the assigned IPTs GSE planning and scheduling with contractors and vendors.
You will use statistical methods such as trends, and forecasts for developing graphs and charts to reflect discrepancies in planned GSE maintenance programs.
You will be responsible for planning and carrying out work assignments resolving most of the conflicts that arise, coordinating the work with peers and artisans as necessary.
You will work independently, keep your supervisor informed of progress and take action to resolve controversial problems based on knowledge and experience.

Qualifications
For the GS-09 position:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Participating in the preventative maintenance planning, coordination, and improvement of procedures governing preventative maintenance;
2) Identifying and scheduling ground support equipment (GSE) for preventative maintenance and calibration as well as performing pre-operational checks on various pieces of equipment on a daily basis;
3) Ensuring hazardous waste and air emission rules and regulations are met;
4) Detecting and resolving problems that impede the tooling, equipment, calibration of equipment/tooling, and hazardous waste/materials;
5) Analyzing and reviewing a variety of standard management reports such as aircraft schedules, materials lists, and CAL reports to develop a provisioning plan; and
6) Demonstrating thorough knowledge with preventative maintenance methods and processes associated with GSE's utilized in maintaining a wide variety of aircraft, engines, components, and related systems.
For the GS-07 position:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Participating in the preventative maintenance planning, coordination, and improvement of procedures governing preventative maintenance;
2) Coordinating with management and operating personnel in determining and taking necessary action to prevent recurrence of ground support equipment (GSE) problems;
3) Ensuring hazardous waste and air emission rules and regulations are met;
4) Detecting and assisting in resolving problems that impede the tooling, equipment, calibration of equipment/tooling, and hazardous waste/materials; and
5) Demonstrating some knowledge with preventative maintenance methods and processes associated with GSE's utilized in maintaining a wide variety of aircraft, engines, components, and related systems.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
For the GS-09 Position:
Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
or
Have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
or
Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
For the GS-07 position:
Have 1 full year of graduate level education
or
Have superior academic achievement
