About the Position: Incumbent will serve as the Disability Evaluation System Program Specialist for 316 MDG Joint Base Andrews.
Duties
Verify medical records are complete.
Administer a Military Treatment Facility’s (MTF’s) Disability Evaluation System (DES) program.
Coordinate legal consultation and recovery care coordinator support.
Compile data for reports.
Input data into automated systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a TDY or business travel requirement of 5% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
- This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
- Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Education/ Experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One yearof specialized experience which includes 1) verifying medical records are complete; 2) compiling data for reports; and 3) inputting data into automated systems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Healthcare Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience
: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) Add the two percentages.
