The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Deputy Director of the Integrated Resilience Directorate at Headquarters, Air Force sharing with the director (a General Officer or equivalent position) the full scope of responsibility for managing the activities of the directorate. Represents the director officially, and when acting for the director.

Duties

Serves as the "alter ego" for the Director of Integrated Resilience at a HQ USAF, planning, organizing, and managing the activities of the directorate. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents the Integrated Resilience Directorate with a variety of command and functional area organizations. Maintains effective oversight of Integrated Resilience policy. Supports the acquisition of the financial, material, manpower, and information resources needed to carry out Air Force-wide integrated resilience programs.

Requirements

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
  • (Continued) Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
  • Incumbent of this position is subject to the possibility of a random drug test.

  • This is a Supervisory Position in which a supervisory probation period may be required

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, IAW OPM Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions for GS-0301. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, public or private sector). Examples of my experience includes: Knowledge of Integrated Resilience functions, operations, policies, procedures, and practices and the concepts, theories, and practices of the specialist work performed in the subordinate organizations. Knowledge of personnel management, EEO, and safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Manages the development of command-wide, long-range plans, program goals, policies, and procedures. Develops goals and objectives that integrate the AF objectives FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of Integrated Resilience functions, operations, policies, procedures, and practices and the concepts, theories, and practices of the specialist work performed in the subordinate organizations. 2. Knowledge of personnel management, EEO, and safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. 4. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
