You will serve as a Supervisory Fire Protection Specialist in the Fire and Emergency Services of HDQTRS NDW.

You will administer a fire prevention program for an organization You will conduct proficiency training evaluations to monitor training needs of employees. You will manage the development and implementation of a risk management plan for a fire department

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Identifying fire hazardous conditions to determine the appropriate action to take; 2) Providing guidance on fire codes and fire safety regulations and procedures; and 3) implementing and maintaining fire protection/prevention programs; and 4) Identifying developmental and training needs of other firefighter employees. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. ***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector III, Fire Instructor II, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter, and State or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or Pro-Board to meet the requirement.
