You will serve as a Senior Intelligence Analyst on the Strategic Assessments Team at the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) responsible for leading and conducting strategic level analysis, production, and dissemination on global security, military, and maritime issues for senior Navy military and civilian leadership. This position is located in Suitland, MD in the OFFICE OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE.
Duties
You will facilitate the exploitation and use of highly classified reporting for analysis and production within ONI's analytic centers.
You will maintain a mastery level of understanding on assigned regions (Iran/Near East or China/East Asia) and draw on Intelligence Community expertise to meet customer information needs.
You will facilitate the analysis, production, and delivery of written intelligence assessments and intelligence briefings for Navy flag and civilian executive audiences.
You will engage with ONI Senior Naval Intelligence Managers, analytic Defense Intelligence Senior Leaders, and analytic center Senior Intelligence Officers and Analysts to identify analytic key issues and production opportunities.
You will review intelligence products prepared by other government agencies or other elements in an assigned activity and make changes based on expert judgement and experience.
You will coordinate the work of the team, establish priorities, guide team members and will be responsible for accuracy and completeness of team products.
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Position may be subject to assignment to provide foreign language support in performance of officially assigned intelligence-related duties in accordance with NAVINTEL HRO Instruction 12550.2, FLPP for Naval Intelligence Civilian Employees.
- Level two or higher proficiency must be certified every 12 months in the approved language(s) for at least two of the following skills: listening, reading, speaking, or writing.
- Travel may be required in performance of language duties.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Leading and executing analytic projects requiring the integration of multiple analytic areas and applying extensive knowledge of advanced research methodologies, analytical techniques, collection management systems and the assigned geographical regions to provide analytic quality assurance on complex or high profile production; 2) Providing oversight and guidance to ONI analysts on intelligence production and tradecraft issues and ensuring that all-source analytic assessments and products are fully informed by highly sensitive reporting; 3) Coordinating and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders and drawing on interpersonal skills to effectively mediate analytic disputes that arise between organizations, in order to advance collection and analysis of importance to the U.S. Navy; 4) Identifying critical intelligence gaps, specifying collection requirements to fill gaps, providing new methodologies and techniques for collection applications to eliminate gaps and evaluating intelligence collected in response to collection requirements.
