This position is located in the Office of the Superintendent, Manufacturing Department, United States Mint. As the Executive Assistant, the incumbent independently performs highly diversified duties associated with the administration and management of day-to-day support activities for the Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent.
Duties
As an Executive Assistant, you will:
Provide administrative, clerical and analytical support (i.e., budget formulation/expenditures, award distribution, requisition requests, man-hours worked, overtime expenses, etc.) for the Superintendent and Deputy in support of day- to-day operations and staff activities, to include report generating, data collection and data analysis as described above.
Respond to various inquiries, requests and administrative problems directed to the Superintendent, relying on a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of US Mint programs and the policies and views of the Superintendent.
Exercise control over the Superintendent's calendar with complete authority for commitment of time for appointments and various official contacts; establishes priorities and reschedules appointments as necessary.
Arrange and attend senior staff meetings and monitor such to identify and summarize decisions and commitments; and follow up on action items with participants or support personnel.
Review and study clerical and administrative work processes to identify, analyze, recommend, and implement solutions to problems in work processes, organizational structure, correspondence, reports tracking, and workload distribution.
Qualifications

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience: For the GS-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Assisting with administrative functions such as troubleshooting office support issues, scheduling meetings and conferences, controlling correspondence, and appointment calendars for management; AND
-Researching and interpreting information needed to prepare reports, and responding to requests for information.
OR
You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: A Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
