This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U. S. Coast Guard, LANTAREA, Preparedness Division (LANT-535), in Portsmouth, VA.
Duties
This role provides subject matter expertise and technical support for the Coast Guard Preparedness Program. The position provides oversight for the development of LANTAREA contingency plans and support to exercise design and execution of LANTAREA exercises.
Requirements

- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- This position requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- This position requires drug testing.
Qualifications
AT THE GS-13 GRADE LEVEL: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal sector related to the position to be filled.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Ability to develop contingency plans to enhance Coast Guard preparedness.
Exceptional writing and project organizational skills.
Expert knowledge of project management to oversee and coordinate the array and scope of the defense planning processes required of a team effort comprised of both civilian and military personnel.
