Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to: To serve as a Junior Policy or Doctrine Analyst on issues related to unclassified and classified doctrine and policies related projects having USSPACECOM equities.
Reviews and assess U.S. space, and missile defense, related policy and doctrine for alignment with USSPACECOM equities.
Assists Policy and Doctrine SMEs with creating products that convey policy or doctrine related USSPACECOM responses.
Actively contributes in reviewing and editing USSPACECOM's internal policies, instructions, and other relevant documents to ensure they accurately represent USSPACECOM's equities and align with higher-level directives, regulations, and doctrine.
Provides insight in the analysis of large-scale, high-visibility policy or doctrine related projects by adapting and applying various analytical techniques.

Position is designated special-sensitive and requires the employee obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, NH Administrative and Management positions.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least three (3) years of general experience at the next lower broadband NH-1, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-4 or equivalent in the Federal Service. General experience includes: Produces desired results, in the needed timeframe, with the appropriate level of supervision through the use of appropriate knowledge, skills, abilities, and understanding of the technical requirements of the job. Achieves, demonstrates, and maintains the appropriate qualifications necessary to assume and execute key acquisition and/or support requirements. Demonstrates skilled critical thinking in identifying, analyzing, and solving complex issues, as appropriate. Takes and displays personal accountability in leading, overseeing, guiding, and/or managing programs and projects within assigned areas of responsibility. Work is timely, efficient and of acceptable quality. Completed work meets project/program objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Laws and Doctrines, relevant laws, regulations, policies, and doctrines, including those of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, DoD, and Joint operations as they apply to USSPACECOM missions.
Knowledge of a range of pertinent regulations, policies, doctrine, and precedents, particularly those involving SAP-related planning, development, security, and execution.
Skills in planning, organizing, and supporting team study work, with an ability to assist in dialogues with senior military officials in a joint environment.
Skills in reading and analyzing data from various sources, supporting decision-making processes with guidance, and a willingness to continue that development.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms, support complex issue negotiation, and contribute to maintaining good working relationships. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work priorities to support Branch/Division requirements and objectives, making the most of available resources.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
