You will serve as a GG-0132-09 Intelligence Specialist for Marine Corps Intelligence Activity with responsibility to perform all-source analysis, identifying and evaluating problems, analyzing, and submitting collections to fill gaps. Your analysis will be disseminated as written finished intelligence production, oral briefings and submitted in various databases relative to your assigned area. This position is located in Quantico, VA.

Duties

You will apply learned knowledge of intelligence principles, concepts, and methods governing area of responsibility and utilize terminologies, methodologies, and research and analytical techniques. You will assist in preparing and presenting briefings and written products on assigned area for senior level Department of Defense and US Marine Corps officials. You will interpret, evaluate, and integrate intelligence information from all sources. You will use judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines such as the policies, regulations, precedents, and work directions for application to specific cases or problems. You will analyze results and recommend changes. You will use verbal and written communication techniques to produce finished products, prepare and present briefings, and participate in meetings and conferences. You will receive formal and on-the-job training and guidance to accomplish assignments designed to develop skills and competencies necessary for successful performance and advancement to the full performance work level.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Shift work and travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences and training.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, such as: 1. Prepare portions of or complete intelligence analyses or assessments in assigned area of responsibility. 2. Interpret, evaluate, and integrate intelligence information from all sources. 3. Perform routine tasks associated with intelligence production or collection. 4. Evaluate intelligence material on its importance to extract relevant data. OR I have a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR I have completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR I have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
