You will serve as a Public Safety Dispatcher (OA) of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.

Duties

You will provide appropriate pre-arrival instructions and relay any additional instructions to the responding units. You will obtain any relevant information to the call to include patient status, location of fire, etc. You will provide location and type of incident to determine appropriate public safety response. You will dispatch fire apparatus, medical apparatus, police units and civilian apparatus, etc. You will monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made without the compromise of quality of services to the public.

• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• You will be required to complete all required trainings.

Qualifications

GS-06Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Utilizing emergency communication equipment; 2) Prioritizing emergency and non-emergency calls for service to respond accordingly; 3) Dispatching emergency vehicles including police, fire, and medical services personnel; and 4) Acting as the initial incident command support until responding emergency units arrive on scene. GS-05Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Dispatching emergency vehicles; and 2) Assessing incoming emergency calls to determine appropriate course of action.
