You will serve as an Automotive Equipment Dispatcher in the Southwest Region Fleet Transportation of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will monitor transportation request for transport of personnel (TOP), transport of things (TOP), self-drive vehicles (U-Drive) and other miscellaneous transportation requirements. You will assist with the scheduling of MVO's, vehicles, and other equipment. You will communicate and coordinate closely with maintenance section to schedule vehicles for preventive maintenance (PM) services. You will communicate with maintenance section regarding vehicles coming out of the maintenance cycle and being return to service. You will be required to monitor phones, email traffic, and other methods of communication to ensure effective communication with customers, motor vehicle operators, and other region dispatchers and other personnel as required.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current state Class C driver's license. A copy of this license should be included in your application package.
  • You must be able to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors.
  • You may be required to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You may be required to work a Shift work schedule.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1.) Coordinating transportation activities; 2.) Dispatching personnel and equipment to meet scheduled and unscheduled vehicle requirements; 3.) Monitoring phones and email traffic to ensure effective communication with customers; AND 4.) Communicating and coordinating closely with maintenance to schedule vehicles preventive maintenance. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successfully completed 4 years of education above high school level.
