You will serve as a Public Safety Dispatcher in the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.

Duties

You will provide appropriate pre-arrival instructions and relay any additional instructions to the responding units. You will obtain any relevant information to the call to include patient status, location of fire, etc. You will provide location and type of incident to determine appropriate public safety response. You will dispatch fire apparatus, medical apparatus, police units and civilian apparatus, etc. You will monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made without the compromise of quality of services to the public.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Must be able to acquire the following certifications within the first year of employment and maintained continuously without lapse throughout employment: First Aid, CPR, EMD Protocols Certification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Thoroughly completing and updating reports and records; 2) Clearly communicating instructions and information via electronic systems; and 3) Performing administrative tasks such as tracking calls, answering phones, and completing documentation. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

4 years above high school
