Duties
Performs personnel and administrative functions in support of servicing organization advising the Commander, Command Group, and other staff personnel on military personnel matters.
Prepares orders, requests, and logs for leave and other local actions.
Serves as the custodian of military personnel records of all officer and enlisted personnel assigned.
Responsible for assuring that the proper documentation is completed and processed for a variety of military pay actions, including allotments, bonds, insurance, Temporary Duty (TDY), grade changes, etc.
Operates and manages Electronic Military Personnel Office (e-MILPO) and Personnel Education Quality System (APEQS) for the command.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Assists processing human resources (HR) personnel actions AND Utilizes personnel automated systems to complete assigned HR tasks.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Additional Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
