About the Position: This position will serve as a Human Resources Assistant (Military/OA) within the Reassignments and Transitions, Military Personnel Division, Directorate of Human Resources, US Army Installation Command located at Fort Sill, OK. This position requires a substantial knowledge of military personnel management procedures.
Duties
Perform a variety of complex procedural and substantive HR assistant duties associated with all services necessary for the PCS travel to locations in the Continental United Stated (CONUS) and outside (OCONUS) in connection with official orders.
Perform a wide range of recurring personnel transactions for voluntary and involuntary officer and enlisted separations such as release from active duty (REFRAD), resignations, retirements, etc.
Perform a wide range of recurring personnel transactions such as assignments, reassignments, details, transfers, etc. affecting enlisted, warrant, commissioned officers and their family members.
Conduct Officer and Enlisted in/out-processing. Provide voting assistance to Soldiers during in/out processing.
Monitor and process IPPS-A transactions generated by unit/battalion/brigade and DHR.
Assist the Retirement Services Officer (RSO) with Survivor Benefit Plan Counseling for active-duty soldiers in the Fort Sill geographical area, including Arkansas and parts of Texas.
Serve as a final reviewer of eligibility or entitlement determinations on various personnel action requests submitted by lower-level clerks.
Interpret laws, rules, regulations, directives, decisions, and policies applicable to the ID Cards, DEERS/RAPIDS Section.
Operate a variety of electronic systems comprised of hardware and software components capable of storing, retrieving, manipulating, transferring, computing, and printing information.

- This position requires a qualified typist is required. A qualified typist is define as a employee that type at least 40 words per minute without error.

Minimum Qualification
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes processing human resources functions by applying military personnel management principles, practices, and regulations; Analyze official military personnel records to determine eligibilities; and Review transactions completed by lower-level employees for completeness and accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
