With an emphasis on high ethical standards, excellence in public service and the delivery of superlative advice and counsel, our Office performs the legal work for the US Department of the Interior, and manages the Departmental Ethics Office and Departmental FOIA Office. With more than 500 total employees, more than 400 of which are licensed attorneys, the Office strives to provide sound legal services to fulfill the Department's diverse and wide-ranging mission.

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Solicitor, Division of Administration, Branch of Administrative Operations and Planning, located in Washington, DC your specific duties will include):
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-12, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1.) Analyzing and evaluating administrative program operations to meet established goals and objectives;
2.) Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining control systems for management of property, space utilization, and/or contracted services agreements; and
3.) Managing assignments independently that include resolving conflicts, coordinating work with others, extending or modifying existing techniques and processes, and interpreting and applying program policy to meet established objectives.

In order to qualify at the GS-13 level, you must meet the following:
To qualify for the GS-13, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1.) Conducting program reviews for compliance with laws, regulations, and/or policies to ensure organizational mission requirements are met;
2.) Preparing written, tabular, and/or graphical information to support analysis of budget and operational data to improve performance or avoid costs;
3.) Designing, implementing, and/or maintaining control systems for the administration of personal property, contracted service agreements, travel, timekeeping, and/or a financial system;
4.) Analyzing and evaluating financial information to assess overall financial performance of an organization (including preparing, executing, and monitoring organizational budgets and procurement/purchase requests);
5.) Providing oversight of personal property to include determining control processes, maintaining property records, conducting inventories, and/or property disposal;
6.) Providing oversight of office space to include recommending floorplan layout changes including assignment of electrical, data, telecommunications, and/or furniture and equipment placement; serving as the project lead for alterations, modernization, or relocation projects; and/or reporting on office space and security costs and reviewing bills for accuracy; and
7.) Leading administrative operations in continuity of operations, emergency management, personnel safety, and/or personnel security.
