This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Compliance/Policy Administration Section
This position primary purpose is to ensure that compliance risk management processes are in place. Train and communicate compliance risk management principles; Establish policy for compliance risk identification and non-retaliation for reporting; Integrate compliance risk analysis and mitigation practices within DEA business processes.
Duties
As a Program Analyst, your typical work assignments may include:
Preparing compliance risk analysis reports and mitigation plans.
Reviewing the policy from offices across the organization and provide analytical feedback and recommendations regarding compliance weaknesses.
Planning, directing, coordinating, and organizing in-depth analyses and reviews of the organization's management controls and related program requirements.
Reviewing and evaluating internal controls and risk management (ICRM) and financial improvement and audit readiness (FAIR) plan
programs.
Assisting with office administration functions such as inventory and lifecycle management of equipment; records management compliance; and SharePoint design and maintenance.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement.
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
GS-12:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to a GS-11. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Training and communicating compliance risk management principles; 2) Reviewing the policies from offices across the organization and provide analytical feedback and recommendations regarding compliance weaknesses; 3) Assisting with ensuring financial statements are validated and ready for audit; and 4) Assisting with developing specific guidelines such as implementing regulations or methods for the measurement and improvement of effectiveness and productivity in the administration of operating programs.
GS-13:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to a GS-12. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Training and communicating compliance risk management principles; 2) Reviewing the policies from offices across the organization and provide analytical feedback and recommendations regarding compliance weaknesses; 3) Ensuring financial statements are validated and ready for audit; and 4) Developing specific guidelines such as implementing regulations or methods for the measurement and improvement of effectiveness and productivity in the administration of operating programs.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
