As an Information Technology Specialist with Information & Data Analytic Services you will be responsible for enabling modernization and optimization through leveraging systems, environments, and services. You will be part of a team of highly skilled information specialists, data analysts, and IT engineers working to enable NASA's Missions and Projects to be successful by offering comprehensive solutions that streamline and automate functions and enable a simplified approach to compliance.

Duties

Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee. Establish and implement procedures and methodologies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in the life cycle management of information such as Agency Records as it aligns with National Archives standards and policies. Develop and conduct training, presentations, consultation, and workshops on records management responsibilities including identification of Federal records in all formats and media across NASA’s platforms and systems. Responsible for the formulation, dissemination, and compliance of Agency policies, objectives, and strategic plans relating to records management solutions and technical configurations that enable those policies and objectives. Develop automation to streamline repetitive tasks, automate processes, and improve operational efficiency. Resolve technical issues, provide support to end-users, and collaborate with other teams to troubleshoot complex problems. Engineer and maintain IT solutions such as cloud environments, servers, storage systems, databases, SaaS products, and/or virtualization platforms to meet Agency Records Management standards. Design and maintain data architecture including databases, repositories, and collaboration solutions to support records management needs and analytical requirements. Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. You may meet the basic requirements through substitution of education for experience To qualify for the GS-9, you must have: a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level: Assisting with requirements collection and customer service for records management IT solutions; Assisting with troubleshooting issues in records systems like databases, cloud environments, or SaaS products; Assisting with the development and enforcing data architecture in systems like databases, cloud environments, or SaaS products. OR b) Completed all requirements for a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. OR c) Completed 2 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. To qualify for the GS-11, you must have: a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level: Executing requirements collection and customer service for records management IT solutions; Maintaining records systems, like databases, cloud environments, or SaaS products, and troubleshooting issues; Supporting the development and enforcing data architecture in records systems like databases, cloud environments, or SaaS products. OR b) Completed all requirements for a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. OR c) Completed 3 full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree with (1) a major in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR (2) a major that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of fields of computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and that required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Leading requirements collection and customer service for records management IT solutions; Developing and maintaining records systems, like databases, cloud environments, or SaaS products, and troubleshooting issues; Developing and enforcing data architecture in records systems like databases, cloud environments, or SaaS products. AND IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
