About the Position: This position is with the Army Sustainment Command located at Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL.
Duties
Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist within the Director, Logistics Civil Augmentation Program Office (LOGCAP) as a technical logistician for the Army Materiel Command (AMC) LOGCAP.
Provides recommendations and supports senior specialists in development and evaluation of peacetime plans, program policy changes, and monitoring of contingency operations, readiness exercises, and deployments.
Reviews and analyzes logistics program regulations and readiness reporting requirements and identifies policy and procedures to improve LOGCAP operations.
Identifies lessons learned for deployments and provides training to AMC, Army, Major Army Commands, Joint Commands, and Warfighting Commands to implement lessons learned and improve LOGCAP within AMC and the Army.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires an Official Passport with no travel restrictions, or incumbent must be able to obtain a passport with no travel restrictions.
- This position is designated as Emergency Essential to support the Command's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension and mobilization. The incumbent must sign DD Form 2365.
- Medical examination required prior to hiring and annually thereafter.
- This position meets the requirements for category 1 per DoDI 6205.02, July 23, 2019, and as such, unless otherwise directed, must meet all immunization requirements for identified overseas locations.
- Commensurate with mission requirements, the incumbent can be required to work irregular duty hours to include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be physically able to wear chemical protective gear and full-face chemical protective masks with appropriate optical inserts and will be enrolled in a respiratory protection program.
- This position requires lifting of at least 30 lbs. pack for a minimum distance of 25 feet.
- This position requires a pre-employment physical, and annually thereafter.
- This position is designated as a Key Position to ensure continuity in mission and cannot be vacated during national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization.
- Business travel required 30% of the time.
- The incumbent of this position will be required to complete and file a Financial Disclosure Statement (SF 450/OGE-450).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles or the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
