This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. This position is located in the Systems Engineering Division (IT), Office of Information Services (I). The incumbent serves as a senior level expert IT Specialist for network and systems analysis and application software functions.
Duties
As an IT SPECIALIST, you will:
Provide advanced insight and technical direction for new and existing IT networks, infrastructure, systems that serve to automate various NARA business functions.
Serve as a project leader or as a team member/technical representative on extremely complex multifunctional projects related to the implementation of NARA information technology investments.
Lead/Participate in systems development projects that may be implemented NARA-wide or for office-specific systems.
Review emerging technologies related to cloud, networking, storage, search, and other areas which may impact or provide greater efficiency to existing or upcoming NARA initiatives.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position must include:
Experience in applying IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to provide guidance, technical advice and recommendations to management on information technology and procedures.
AND
Experience working with stakeholders on business units to develop requirements and analyze, review, and make recommendations concerning the technical feasibility of system user requirements and their suitability for integration within existing or planned enterprise architecture.
AND
Experience in Leading/Participating in systems development projects that may be implemented for office-specific systems.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

3. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
