About the Position: The US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) is the Army's material readiness command for aviation, missile and calibration that optimizes joint warfighter capabilities at the point of need.
Duties
Developing strategies, plans, and policies impacting the U.S. Army Test and Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment Activity (USATA) support operations.
Collaborating with higher headquarters, other Army Commands (ACOMs), and other Government agencies/activities to identify and resolve systemic strategy, plans, and policy problems and shortfalls.
Reviewing, monitoring, evaluating, and commenting on Army doctrine and organization-wide policies, requirement forecasts, strategic long-range plans and programs, logistic mission area analysis, and standing operating procedures.
Initiating and/or coordinating actions between and among organizational elements, higher headquarters, and external organizations as appropriate in support of special projects, task groups, or working groups.
Ensuring coordination among staff elements conducting or participating in organization and mission studies/reviews designed to optimize the TMDE support mission alignment, organizational structure, and resource allocations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of the appointment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) developing, analyzing, organizing, coordinating, and producing policy, plans, doctrine and doctrine related materials; (2) developing analytical studies/reviews and projects related to long range planning; (3) prepare tasking memoranda for doctrine staffing and reviews.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
