You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Air Operations, Ground Electronics Management of NAVSTA.

Duties

You will assign work and provide technical direction and training in the classroom or on-the-job. You will install, operate, modify, perform preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and system alignments in the Ground Electronics maintenance System. You will establish methods and procedures for use by others in preventive maintenance of electronic equipment. You will originate and develop modifications to electronic equipment to change its operational characteristics to improve reliability or enable it to operate compatibility in conjunction with other equipment or systems.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to work in cramped spaces and carry chassis exceeding 50 pounds.
• You will be required to work at heights of up to 170 feet from an enclosure supported by the crane.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing maintenance on air traffic control radio communications systems and radar systems; 2) Troubleshooting or repairing micro/miniature electronic circuit boards; 3) Developing methods or procedures for use by others in the preventative maintenance of operational equipment. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
