Duties
The Management Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical and administrative assistance to the leadership team in areas such as timekeeping, travel arrangements, training, and correspondence management. They possess a strong understanding of park operations, administrative procedures, and the priorities and philosophies of park leadership, allowing them to effectively support and guide the team through controversial or confidential matters. Additionally, this role includes serving as the official timekeeper for the team and maintaining accurate records and files for time and attendance management.
This position also involves coordinating and managing logistics for meetings, trainings, and official visits requested by the leadership team. They are tasked with funding suitable meeting spaces, ensuring necessary supplies are available and in good working order, and organizing accommodations for participants. The Management Support Specialist also assists with facilitating internal meetings to ensure smooth discussions and decision-making.
The Management Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with policies and regulations within the Superintendent's Office. They are responsible for developing office guidelines, standard operating procedures, and other policies to promote consistency and appropriateness of business practices. Additionally, they maintain a thorough understanding of records management directives and manage correspondence formatting, filing, and records. Other duties include tracking staff training, managing office supplies and inventory, and providing technology support for the team.
Serves as a liaison between the superintendent's office and internal/external parties, including park staff, government officials, media, and park visitors. Facilitates effective communication and handles incoming//outgoing correspondence, maintaining a thorough understanding of releveant working relationships. Also, maintains schedules for the superintendent and deputy superintendent, while serving as the Records Management Officer for the park and ensuring compliance with records managemnt policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: . experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is the ability to provide technical and administrative assistance, prepare and review correspondence for clarity and correctness, provide information technology support, analyze background information for critical issues, maintain files and schedules, and coordinate meetings and trainings. Experience at this level must also demonstrate the ability to serve as a liaison between the office and various stakeholders, coordinate travel arrangements, and maintain records in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leasing to such a degree or LL.B. or jJ.D., if related. You must include transcripts.

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
