Duties

The position is responsible for supervising mission support positions who provide services in direct support of operational programs. This position starts at a salary of $104,955.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $136,440.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $136,440(GS-13 Step 10). Major duties include: Supervising a team that coordinates and performs a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the Air and Marine Operations Branch/Unit including Budget, Human Capital, and Worker's Compensation, Facilities, Property, Travel, and other areas of Mission Support. Speaks authoritatively on in-depth knowledge of AMO policies, commitments and interests. Directing and overseeing the development and implementation of effective and responsive Budget, Human Capital, Worker's Compensation, Facilities, Property, Travel programs. Provides comprehensive advisory services to management on substantive organization functions and work practices. Evaluates subordinates and ensures equity of performance standards. Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinates. Advising management on assigned administrative matters. Conducts and participates in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems and methods and identifies ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services at the local level. Monitoring pay to ensure that AMO personnel do not exceed the mandated pay caps, and recommends resolutions to all budgetary issues. Providing comprehensive human capital management advisory services on substantive organization functions and work practices.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Applying and modifying procedures to address administrative problems and unusual situations; Evaluating administrative functions and preparing findings, recommendations, and narrative/data reports; Advising on programs and procedures; and Acting as liaison with other organizations, including representing the agency's interests and establishing harmonious working relationships with counterparts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/27/2023.
