You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the THEATER USW C5I SYSTEMS DIVISION within the UNMANNED & THEATER USW SYSTEMS DEPT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. The salary range shown represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13, Step 10; currently $153,113.

Duties

You will oversee information technology (IT) resources (e.g., performance, availability or recovery, functionality, integrity, efficiency) to ensure hardware and software interoperability issues are minimized. You will advise system users on troubleshooting application software problems. You will assess information management system processing capabilities to recommend configuration changes. You will analyze stated specification requirements to determine whether they are unclear, incomplete, ambiguous, or contradictory. You will brief customers and stakeholders on the planning, design, and development of information technology (IT) systems throughout an organization. You will analyze information technology (IT) systems malfunctions to implement corrective actions.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for System Admin and Technical Support Specialist level Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11 and GS-12 equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector installing, testing, operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining hardware and software systems and performing technical oversight of networks to ensure compliance with established security or information assurance policies and procedures. Additionally, your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
