About the Position: Serves as the Regional Planning & Environmental Division South (RPEDS) plan formulation and non-structural expert for civil works projects as directed by the Division Chief. Accomplishes technically challenging analysis of water resources projects. Provides advice and guidance to key staff within the RPEDS.

Duties

Develops and interprets non-structural plans and non-structural formulation policy. Reviews plan formulation and non-structural methodologies and results for feasibility studies on the most complicated, regionally and nationally significant civil works. Trains the plan formulation team, monitors progress and maintains technical references. Analyzes non-structural to determine if proposed work is within policy and technically sound and provides recommendations and comments to appropriate personnel. Develops formulation processes and methods for flood risk management (structural and nonstructural), navigation, and ecosystem restoration as necessary to determine project planning and justification. Provides advice to Division Chief and other staff in area of expertise on the most complicated, local, regional, and nationally significant civil works.
