About the Position: Serves as one of the district's technical experts in plan formulation and as a supervisor of the staff assigned to the Plan Formulation. Serves as specialist within the district in plan formulation for single and multi-purpose projects that include navigation, flood reduction, shoreline protection, water quality, infrastructure, and ecosystem restoration.

Duties

Ensures that direction taken, and study documentation developed conforms to legal, procedural, and regulatory requirements. Reviews district submittals, facilitates, and participates in formal and informal meetings and performs other informal coordination to identify and resolve plan formulation issues. Provides guidance and recommendations to the district to implement corrective actions based on interpretation of legal, regulatory, or procedural guides. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty or assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Interviews candidates for subordinate position; recommend hiring, promotion, or reassignments. Maintains a complete knowledge of assigned studies and monitors plan formulation to include those alternatives likely to provide favorable results and execution.

Requirements

• Temporary travel (TDY) of up to 20% of the time may be required.
